Have you heard about the new Grant that is available for farmers?

CREA (Cumbria Rural Enterprise Agency) are offering a scheme called Farming Connect Cumbria to offer advice, support and grants to encourage sustainable farming.

To be eligible all you need is a holding number, farm in Cumbria and to receive the majority of your income from agriculture.

Initially an adviser will help prepare a business plan for the farm looking at possible expansion or alteration in the medium to long term. Once the plan is agreed the farm business can then apply for Farming Connect Cumbria grants. A development grant can cover up to 40% of the expenditure.

Is your business ready for the new cross compliance regulations? Do you need to adapt any buildings to improve animal welfare?

Money is available for a wide range of projects so if you have a project in mind it is better to ask whether there is some money available rather than wonder!
