meet the teampartnersTony Little
Tony grew up in Carlisle and joined the accountancy profession in
1966 after leaving Carlisle Grammar School. He progressed within the
firm and became a partner of O'Reilly in 1976. Much of his early experience
focused on providing sound business advice to sole traders and family
partnerships and time in the Wensleydale office gave him insights into
the farming world. Now senior partner, Tony is generally the first
point of contact between the firm and new clients in the Carlisle area.
Tony is also now a business mentor with the Prince's Trust. John McLaren
John joined O'Reilly in 1966 after leaving Carlisle Grammar School
and he became a partner in 1977. John handles a variety of accounts
and tax work. Jim Cochrane
Jim was born and grew up in Dumfries. He qualified as a chartered
accountant in 1980 and moved to join a new Edinburgh office of the
national firm Pannell Kerr Forster. In 1984 he joined the firm of F.
Gordon Joynt and Co. in Carlisle, which was merged with O'Reilly in
1991. Jim is responsible for audit compliance for the firm. Andy Neeve
Andy comes from a farming family and joined the accountancy profession
in 1989 with a Wensleydale firm after thirteen years with Lloyds Bank
and eight years owning and managing his own businesses including a
pub. After qualifying as a certified accountant, he joined O'Reilly
in 1998 as farming manager. He became a partner of the firm in 1999.
He is responsible for business development for the firm and is generally
the first point of contact for new clients of the Penrith, Kirkby Stephen
and Hawes offices. Gary Ritzema
Originally from County Durham, Gary graduated from Birmingham Polytechnic
with a degree in accountancy before qualifying as a chartered accountant
in 1992. He worked with two firms in Newcastle-upon-Tyne then joined
O'Reilly in 1999. He was manager of the audit department, dealing with
corporate clients as well as other regulated work and was made a partner
in 2004, based at the Penrith office. Lee Watson
Lee grew up in Keswick and Penrith then graduated from Huddersfield
University with a degree in business law. He started a career in financial
planning, joining a major insurance company and progressing to area
sales manager and completing the professional Financial Planning Certificate.
With a desire to offer independent financial advice, rather than being
tied to the products of one company, Lee joined O'Reilly in 2000 as
an independent financial adviser and became a partner in 2004. managers and senior staffSteven Brown
After completing a maths degree in 1996, Steven trained as an accountant
in his home town of Liverpool and qualified as a Chartered Certified
Accountant in 1999. In 2002, he joined O'Reilly as farm accounts manager
where he closely follows developments in the agricultural sector to
be able to provide his clients with a specialist service. After joining
the firm, Steven also qualified as a Chartered Tax Advisor and currently
serves on the committee of the Cumbria & SW Scotland branch of
the Chartered Institute of Taxation and advises clients on general
tax issues with a particular interest in Value Added Tax. Louise Donnison
Louise joined O'Reilly in 1998 as an accounts assistant preparing
accounts for sole traders, partnerships and farmers. In 1999 she transferred
into the audit department to gain experience in preparing company accounts
and completing income tax returns. Louise is now responsible for IT
training and assists clients in various aspects of their computer processing. Martin Fleming
Martin has worked in the accountancy profession since leaving school
in 1996 and joined O'Reillys at Penrith in 2000. After qualifying as
an AAT technician in 2002, Martin then qualified as a Chartered Accountant
in 2006. Now based at our Hawes Office, Martin provides advice and
support to a range of clients, which includes Limited companies, sole
traders, partnerships, charitable organizations and personal tax clients. Elizabeth Hall
Elizabeth joined O'Reilly after leaving secretarial college and has
been with the firm for over 30 years. She is now a tax manager based
in Carlisle dealing with Carlisle clients' personal taxation, responsible
for an allocation of clients covering self employed, directors, employees
and non-business clients with small and large portfolios. Linda Hind
Brought up in Penrith, Linda completed a degree in accounting and
management control at Sheffield Hallam University. She joined O'Reilly
in 1997 and in her current role as manager she deals with a range of
sole trader and partnership clients outside of the farming sector. Rachel Marston
Rachel was brought up on a hill farm between Sedbergh and Kirkby Stephen
and is a partner in her husband's family farm. She joined O'Reilly
in 2002 and is currently training to be an accounting technician. Rachel
is a key member within the farming section, preparing accounts and
making regular farm visits she also looks after the Kirkby Stephen
office from time to time. Geoff Taylor
Geoff has been with O'Reilly for a number of years and he handles
company audit work and accounts preparation together with partnership
and larger sole trader accounts and associated tax work. Fiona Watson
Fiona joined O'Reilly in 1981. She is the tax manager and is also
responsible for a team of administration staff, the PAYE department
within the office and a portfolio of personal tax clients. Fiona qualified
as a member of the Association of Taxation Technicians in 1993 and
is part of the O'Reilly tax team dealing with compliance reviews and
planning work. She has served on the committee of the Cumbrian and
SW Scotland branch of the Chartered Institute of Taxation since its
formation in 2001 to 2008. |
