Extra Bank Holiday for the Royal Wedding - April 2011
The entitlement for your employees to have the day off, depends on the
wording in your employee’s contract of employment. If the contract states
they are entitled to all bank holidays off, then they are entitled to
be off. If the contract states 8 bank holidays then
they wouldn’t necessarily be entitled. They may want to take it as part
of their annual holidays, or as the employer you can award the additional
bank holiday if you choose to, so long as all employees are treated in
the same way.
