New Energy Crop Scheme Open for Applications - December 2007
Natural England's Energy Crops Scheme opened to applications on 1st October 2007 for grants to establish miscanthus and short rotation coppice in England.
Applications can be submitted but will not be approved until the European Commission approves the Rural Development Programme for England.
Payment rates are expected to be in the region of £1,000 per hectare for short rotational coppice and £800 per hectare for miscanthus but again cannot be fully confirmed.
