Increase in basic awards for redundancy - May 2008
New limits for redundancy payments and tribunal awards came into effect on 1st February 2008. These are as follows:
- A week's pay for statutory redundancy and basic award has increased from £310 to £330
- Where a dismissal is automatically unfair, the basic award is now £1,320
- The maximum compensatory award, which can be made for an unfair dismissal has increased from £60,000 to £63,000
