Increase in Holiday Entitlement - May 2009

From 1st April 2009, the statutory minimum paid holiday entitlement under the Working Time Regulations increases from 4.8 weeks to 5.6 weeks per year. This means there will be an increase from 24 days to 28 days per year (including public holidays) for those who work a 5 day week.

This change could affect your current employment contracts. Employers may therefore wish to check their contracts of employment to ensure that they reflect this change and remain compliant.
