Cumbria Fells and Dales/Solway Border & Eden:RDPE Local Action Group - May 2009
The Rural Development Programme for England (RDPE) is a new package of funds aimed at stimulating rural development. The programme will run from 2009 to 2013 with funding and grants available for Farming and Forestry and Rural Life. Grants from £1,500 to £200,000 at rates of 40% to 100% of total project costs are available.

- farm diversification into non-agricultural activities
- support for local development strategies
- investment in small scale renewable energy
- business creation and development
- forestry advisory service
- Eco-tourism, low impact tourism, tourism networks and heritage tourism
