VAT Return filing: new rules - Dec 2009From 1st April 2010 businesses with an annual turnover of £100,000 or more, excluding VAT, and all newly registered VAT businesses will need to submit their VAT returns online and make payments electronically. Those businesses that are already VAT registered and have a turnover below the threshold will still have the choice to use paper returns, although the option is to be reviewed in the run up to 2012. If we prepare and submit your VAT returns as agents then we will contact you if we need any further information to enable us to file your returns online. If you prepare and submit your own VAT returns then you will need to
submit your returns via the HMRC website. To do this you will need to
register online - see: When registering you will need to have your last submitted VAT return and your VAT registration certificate to hand. Alternatively, if you would like us to submit your returns on your behalf then let us have these documents and we will do the work for you. To see more articles, see these pages: |
